Yankees Interested in Cameron

According to MLBTR the Yankees are interested in signing Mike Cameron if they trade the Melk Man. As we have said before A-Rod has been privately endorsing Cameron. The Yankees are the Brew Crew's main competition for Cameron. This doesn't make much sense at all as Cameron is a 35 year-old outfielder who is only getting worse and was never great to begin with. He is also serving a 25-game suspension to start the season. The Yankees currently have four better outfielders, and I really don't think Melky will get much for us in a trade,

If Melky is to be traded do it now. I don't think his value will ever be higher. His up side is his arm. His downside is that he doesn't see the ball well and he has prolonged hitting slumps that make him to inconsistent. I love his energy but please trade him now while he still has some value.

If Melky's value's high now the Yankees can do better than Cameron for him.

I think if the Yankees are looking at getting rid of Melky its for prospects or as part of a bigger package. Your not going to get an Upgrade at CF for him. Austin Jackson is the CF of the future I hope
