BA's Top 100 Prospects

Baseball America came out with its Top 100 Prospects, list to say, and I am disappointed. The Yanks have four players on the list. Joba at #3, Jose Tabata at #37, AJax at # 41 and IPK at #45. The list seems kinda Red Sox heavy. As River Ave. Blues points out, earlier, BA ranked Alan Horne as the #7 prospect in the Eastern League, with the BoSox' Justin Masterson at #13, yet Horne didn't make this list, and Masterson in #64. How did Masterson leapfrog Horne without throwing a pitch? That doesn't make sense to me. Also, Micheal Bowden and Ryan Kalish over Jesus? Que?

Going back to my praise of the Yankee front office, this is the 2nd straight year the Yankees have the top pitching prospect.

Also from River Ave. Blues, Horne, Jeff Marquez and Jesus made the "Just Missed" list.

In January, two Baseball America guys evaluated the packages supposedly on the table for Johan Santana for the Boston Herald. They said either Red Sox package (Lester, Crisp, Masterson and Lowrie, or Ellsbury, Masterson and Lowrie) was a better deal than Hughes, Melky and Jeff Marquez. Ridiculous.
