The End of An Era

The New York Yankees are entering their final season in Yankee Stadium, and PA announcer Bob Sheppard may not be a part of it. According to the the New York Times, Sheppard is struggling to regain his health after a bronchial infection. Sheppard, who has done the PA in The Stadium since 1951, may have announced his last lineup. He is 97 years old, and may be replaced by his son, Chris Sheppard, who holds a speech degree from Marquette. Hopefully Bob can recover, because the new Yankee Stadium without his voice will make it seem far more new.

River Ave. Blues has pictures of the new stadium.
