Hughes Brilliant as Scranton Wins Governor's Cup

The AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees defeated the Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay) today to win the Governor's Cup three games to one. Possibly the biggest story of the game was Phil Hughes. His line: 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 12 K (!), 0-2 GB/FB. Yes, that's two balls put in play in five innings. A few too many walks, but come on, 12 strikeouts! Hughes needs to get some starts in the majors this year. Obviously it won't get the Yanks to the playoffs, but Hughes is just toying with AAA right now. Anyway, Scranton will play the winner of the PCL in the Bricktown Showdown on Tuesday.
