Yankees News and Notes

Some minor Yankees news you may or may not have already heard:
  • Hank the Tank Steinbrenner will be forming an advisory committee to review the entire organization this offseason. Brian Cashman would be leading it, but it seems like this is taking away some of his power. Although I would like to see Ca$h return, it would not be devastating to lose him, as the Yankees have able replacements in Gene Michael and Damon Oppenheimer.
  • The Padres have claimed Scott Patterson off waivers and have sent him directly to the majors. This is news to me, as I was unaware that Patterson was put on waivers. I don't understand, as I think Scott deserved a chance in the majors. Here's hoping he has a successful career in San Diego.
