2 In One Day

The Yankees picked up two games yesterday and both were quite fun to watch. Jeter made a sick jump throw like it was 1999 and hit a homer in the first game. In the second game Swisher hit a go ahead HR in the 8th and Pettitte pitched incredibly, going all the way to the 9th and handing the ball over to Mo who shut the door.

The Rays got swept by the Sox so that Yankees are creeping up on 1st place. The Red Sox have won 5 straight however and are starting to breathe down the Yankees' necks. The Sox go on to play the Royals so they may be even closer by the end of that series. The Rays start a series against the White Sox.

Tonight it will be interesting to see if Vazquez can keep up his great outings after the finger injury. He will be facing Nick Blackburn as the Yankees go for the sweep.
