Kennedy's injury is not a vasopasm but an aneurysm. Pete Abe broke the news yesterday. Obviously, this is really terrible news and is awful news for Kennedy. Hopefully, he can come back and make the majors when he's healthy again.

Yesterday Ian Kennedy pitched for the Gulf Coast Yankees making his first start since he strained his lat. We don't know how many pitches he threw exactly but he was supposed to throw under 50 pitches. His numbers were: 1 Run on 3 Hits with no walks and 7 strikeouts over 3 innings. Chase Wright also pitched in that game.

I.P.K. took a step in the right direction of getting healthy. Today he threw his first bullpen session since straining his right lat muscle last month. It lasted 30 pitches and only consisted of fastballs and change-ups. Later in the week he will be throwing more bullpen sessions and be mixing in breaking pitches. He said "It feels back to normal again." Which is a good sign for the Yankees. Even if I.P.K. is fully healed the Yankees might not have a spot for him. He had this to say about that: "I try not to think about it,because all I can do is get healthy," Kennedy said "Whatever happens, happens. Otherwise it will just drive you crazy.
