Remember way back before A-Rod's steroid test came out and Joe Torre's book was expected to be the big story? Well, I`ve had a nasty virus since Monday so I finished the book while laying in bed recovering. It was a good read but lacked the bombshells I was expecting. The Torre input seemed to be very limited. The quotes from him were sparse and not really all that insightful. Honestly, the former bullpen catcher, Mike Borzello, seemed to be a bigger part of the book than Torre.
Its a decent book about the years Torre was with the Yankees. However, its has little to separate it from the dozens of other books that will surely follow.

I finally got my copy of the Yankee Years from the local library. So far its a pretty good read and when I`m done I`ll probably post a review.

Torre Book
Theirs been a lot of controversy over the new Torre book. I`m not planning on commenting on it until after I read the book. Its not fair to take snippets out and blow them out of proportion.

Scott Proctor To Have Surgery On Right Elbow
We all remember how much Joe Torre used Scott Proctor last year and the year before. He used him so much that Brian Cashman had to trade Proctor away as part of his "Torre-proofing" of the bullpen. Well, Joe loved him so much he followed Proctor to LA after the Yankees let him go. Now Scott will be undergoing surgery on a partially torn flexor tendon in his throwing elbow. Say what you will about Joe Girardi, he definitely manages the bullpen way better than the old Joe.
