Here They Come, Yo. Here They Come.

Curtis Grand has gotten a lot of crap since coming to New York, especially since the guy who the Yankees traded for him, Austin Jackson, is hitting .303.  He started off the year red hot but then a groin injury slowed him down. It seems now C-Grand is starting to pick up steam again.

In the last ten games Grandy is batting .333 with 3 homers. Maybe hope week is inspiring him or maybe Kevin Long's swing revamp is the cause of this resurgence. His outs have been hit hard as well and it seems he is early on almost every pitcher. He has jumped his average 10 points up.

I like to group Thames and Grandy together so I can do rap group photoshops.

Marcus Markley Thames (yes it is his real name) has been even hotter than the Grandyman. Hitting .379 over his last 10 games. Marcus might be one of Cashman's best signings this year.

Tough Game

This was the toughest loss all year. The Yankees should have won this game you can blame it on anything; the blunders of Cano and Girardi are just examples. It seems that the Yankees shoul
d have put this game away innings ago. Burney was not seen in the bullpen and there are whisperings that he went back to New York for an MRI. Joba's start should be categorized. as "lucky", he was a wizard with the ground balls (right). It seems the Yankees just scraped by with Joba on the mound. Then the 'pen took over and we should have given them some cushion leaving 15 runners stranded. However we can still take 2/3 from the Sox and I am confident with A.J. taking the mound tomorrow. It will be hard to get the taste of today's hard loss out of our mouths.
Update 11:56: Pete Abe confirms that Burney has been sent back for an MRI. Also Wang was placed on the DL and so was Cody Ransom after a sliding injury (quad).

Comic: Serendipitous Swisher

Swisher may have been New York's most effective pitcher. After giving up a walk and Tampa Bay's 17th hit, he struck out Gabe Kapler and got Pena and Pat Burrell to fly out.
"I had fun with it. When am I ever going to have a chance to do that again? Probably never," said Swisher, who hadn't pitched in a game since he was a freshman in high school. "We know we didn't play very well. Got to find something to laugh about in that moment. I just happened to be the guy." source
From Swisher's Twitter:
My arm is killing me! hahahahaha
Swish is my Homeboy.
